I designed and fabricated this sign while working for Roundup River Ranch, a non-profit camp for children with serious illness and their families. In 2018 the camp constructed a new multi-use building named “DJ’s Junction” after benefactors Daniel and Janet Mordecai Foundation. In this design I used left over siding material from the building’s exterior and also had it match the pitch of the roof. I sought out a company to engrave our branded front on the face of the wooden sign. After contacting Denver based Sterling Edge Industrial Cutting and sharing our organizations mission, they agreed to do the laser engraving free of charge. This project really came together and helped bring some character to the building while also matching the aesthetic.
